Master the perfect at-home coffee now that your mornings are kid-free
The kids are back in school, which means your mornings are once again quiet. Quiet enough to enjoy the perfect-at-home coffee experience without getting interrupted.
Call us biased, but we believe coffee is always in need of a flavorful syrup. Some of our favorite Classics are French Vanilla, Hazelnut, Cinnamon and Butterscotch. If you’re feeling adventurous, try Mango, Peach Chipotle or Pina Colada for that coffee shop flavor at home.
Of course, a good cup of coffee always starts with the coffee itself. Freshly roasted beans taste, well, fresh. That rumor about keeping coffee in the fridge is just that, a rumor. Store coffee in a well-sealed container at room temperature, and you’ll be sipping coffee every morning that tastes like it’s from the corner coffee shop.
Our Flavor Oracle Levi tells us the perfect coffee to water ratio is two tablespoons of coffee to six ounces of water. Even half asleep, that’s measuring we can handle.
Speaking of, water is important, too. Filtered water makes the best coffee.
This next tip means a whole lot more now that the kids are back in school: drink your coffee shortly after it’s brewed for that delicious coffee shop taste. Waiting an hour or two, or worse yet, reheating your coffee (we’ve all been there, right, moms?) means your coffee won’t taste as good. So go ahead, savor that freshly brewed at-home coffee before you get pulled into the day’s to-do list.
Lastly, and this has nothing to do with that great cup of coffee you just brewed, but we think it’s equally important, is a comfy chair. Cozy up in your favorite chair with your delicious cup full of that coffee shop flavor you crave. It’s nice drinking great tasting coffee at home, isn’t it?!
