Refresh Your Café Menu with Flavored Kombucha
Kombucha is a popular, lightly effervescent, probiotic beverage, made by fermenting sweetened black or green tea with yeast and beneficial bacteria.
It is unknown exactly when or where kombucha originated, although the beverage was consumed in Russia as early as 1900 and first mentioned in German literature in 1913. Despite its early roots, the drink did not become popular in the US until the mid 1990s.
Until recently, kombucha was typically locally or home-brewed, where there is an increased potential for contamination. Ever since commercially bottled kombucha became available in North American stores in the late 1990s, the beverage has become even more popular.
Now that kombucha is more readily available and widely distributed, it’s easier to safely serve it in your café. Offering customers kombucha is an easy way to diversify your café menu and provide a popular drink in a new setting.
While flavored kombucha exists in commercially available bottles, it’s easy to create your own unique flavors, which will give guests the chance to try flavors not available at the store. Simply mix one tablespoon of DaVinci Gourmet Syrup per serving of kombucha. Try one of the flavor combinations below to delight your customers.
